JUST.......SMILE :)

WAIT........HEAR ME OUT!!!!!!!!



Of course I am fully aware that a lot more goes into happiness than a simple smile. Just, give me three minutes of your time and hear me out. Flatter an old lady- haha!!


Before you come at me with all of the reasons that life has you down, I want you to know that I get it. I am in NO WAY minimizing or oversimplifying how to gain more happiness in your life. I am merely suggesting that you make a conscious effort to smile a few more times each day....let's say 10. Aim for ten smiles in one day----when you smile, your brain releases those happy hormones...so SMILE AWAY!


It seems like such a simple thing to do, but---sometimes the most simple things carry the strongest punch. Let me share a short story with you----


A few months ago, I was having a hard time coping with some added stressors going on with my family. When I was absolutely and my wits end and just could not seem to find ANYTHING positive around me, I called a dear friend of mine. This friend asked when I last laughed. She also reminded me of my love of music and questioned when I last took a solo car ride jammin out to the likes of Salt n Pepa and The Beastie Boys.


Well, I am sure you can already guess how THAT day ended......



(LAUGHING)

Let's just leave it at this- embrace the small moments of laughter, smiles, and joy. I promise, if you look for those moments, they are there!!!!!!! Laugh and smile just a little more often- make an EFFORT for those extra ten smiles and SOAK IN those happy hormone benefits.
